African & African-Caribbean Design Diaspora

Four A2 Foam Board Mounted Prints, theme for these were to be relaxed, enjoy your moments, come up with ideas, create as the fundamentals to peace of mind.

An inexperienced artist among thousands of university students, adults and international artists; I remember a kid approached me as I stood with my four pieces, wishing I had time to of produced a more larger spectacle.

‘I really like how simple yet uplifting your pieces are’

I thanked him befuddled as to someone noticing me shuffling in the corner, we spoke on the concept of eLo and his eyes lit up.

We talked more about originality and he felt inspired to do more drawing.

— I guess I was doing this while renting and working 9/5, that larger piece which I wanted to do didn’t come to pass, I should be easy on myself, a lesson learnt.

‘The balance to have something ready, let’s say I wasn’t prepared for the exhibition but the work was from a member of the tribe so to speak - I guess untold gold?.’

It was a good experience but the aim was to try do something a little out of the box.

There was a strong energy of Africa, some artists featured from university and institutions.

I was glad I could exhibit somewhere that felt a bit more like a display of, but something was scratching my ears my intuition maybe?
